Physical Description: Ukitake, suffers from tuberculosis, which is the cause of his white hair, sickly appearance, and a considerable hunger, and as such could not regularly perform his captain duties. Other than that, he wears the traditional captain's garb.

His favorite food is ohagi, and in his free time, he feeds the carps in the lake of Ugendō's garden, and also trims the bonsai there, despite lacking the artistic sense necessary for the latter. He also writes a novel series titled "Rejection of the Twin Fishes!" (Sōgyō no Okotowari!), in which the lead character, Sōgyō, is fighting to save villagers from evil. Sōgyō's catch phrase is "I will reject them!" and it is immensely popular among children in Seireitei.[1]
Ukitake is well-respected and highly honorable, and always treats those around him with respect, even those who are weaker or not as highly ranked as he is. As a result, he can be easily approached by many other members of Soul Society, who seek favours or advice from the Captain. Due to his high moral code, Ukitake will never let any harm go to either his underlings or those who attempt to protect them. Ukitake will never give up if he believes something is wrong and will break a rule to do what is right. He has a keen sense in judging people and knows when they are lonely, despite the fact that he will not comment on this. He observes that before meeting Ichigo Kurosaki and his friends, Rukia often had trouble opening up about certain things and was very lonely as a result. But he views a difference in her when she spends time training with Orihime.
In various Bleach omake chapters, Jūshirō is fond of giving people strange or unwanted gifts for no apparent reason, particularly Tōshirō Hitsugaya for their similar sounding names and hair color.
Due to his long-standing with the Gotei 13, Jūshirō is one of the most proficient combatants in Soul Society and always maintains a level of honor and integrity when engaging in battle, much like his best friend Kyoraku. He refuses to fight in the presence of a child or even with a child. He always maintains a semblance of respect for his opponent and is polite in combat situations.

Jūshirō, born in Rukongai, is the eldest son from the low-class aristocratic Ukitake family. He has five brothers and two sisters, whom he essentially supports by himself. He, along with Shunsui Kyōraku, was one of the first graduates of Captain Yamamoto's academy. Furthermore, he was personally trained by Yamamoto. He and Kyōraku are the oldest captains amongst the Gotei 13, with the exception of Retsu Unohana and Yamamoto himself

This is basic low level attack that uses Kidou in the form of lighting. It shoots out in a bolt of lightning in a straight direction. If it hits the target it can stun the target if greatly weakened.

This is a high level kido that fires a tornado at the enemy at varying intensities based on the users spiritual pressure.

Raikouhou - Lighting Tiger Canon
This is a high level hadou that usually only seated officers and higher know about. The caster gather reiatsu in their hands and shoots off in a destructive burst at the opponent.

Hiryugekizokushintenraiho - Flying Dragon-Striking Heaven-Shaking Thunder Cannon
This is an extremely difficult kido that Ffires a gigantic blast of spiritual energy resulting in an truly enormous explosion.

Kurohitsugi - Black coffin
This is a forbidden hadou that only captain level shinigami know about. It is of a very dark nature and restricted to the rank of captain. Even fewer attempt to learn it as is very powerful and even harder to use. It uses reiatsu to surround an opponent in a black box of energy that squeeses down upon them.

6 Point Light Prison
This hadou is extremely hard to master but very useful in battle. The user points his finger at the target and six beams of light lock around the target. If it manages to work, It restricts their movement so much that they cannot move from that spot unless the prison is broken. If used on someone with higher Sp or rank, it can be broken.
Bakudo 62~ Cost: 350 Sp
Gochu Tekkan
This bakudo is a very high level kidou that cannot be broken by physical strength alone. It features five tall, and heavy pillars that hold the the victim to the ground. If used on someone with higher Sp or rank, it can be broken.
Bakudo 81~ 500 Sp
Dankuu (Rejection void)
This bakudo is made for the specialized use of blocking kidou and kidou-similar techniques. It just a tall, wide, clear wall that is formed in front of the user's hand. Any kidou directed at it will hit it and have absolutely no effect. The only Exception to this rule is the Gran Rey Cero.

Kin (Gold)
This bakudo is the highest known bakudo to shinigami that do not belong in the Royal Guard. Nothing is known to break this bakudo's effect even vizards in full hollow form. Extreme caution must be used while casting this bakudo since it tires out the user very fast when repeatedly used. In appearance, it forms two perpendicular lines that stretch a long distance. Then the point both lines meet is always under the target (regardless of ground or mid-air). They will have their body restrained down to the highest solid surface below them.

Bankin
This spell covers a target from head to toe with spiritual fabric (first song), stabs them with numerous metal blades (second song), and then smashes them with an immense metal cube (final song.)
Zanpakuto Appearance:
Shikai: Its Shikai command is "All Waves, Rise now and Become my Shield, Lightning, Strike now and Become my Blade". Once he completes the incantation, he grasps the single blade with two hands. The blade then transforms slowly and begins to form two blades. As the blades peel apart, the large rope-like chain at the base of the blade lengthens and the silver metal squares attached the chain begin to fall until all 5 present themselves. The blade is now somewhat thinner than the normal Zanpakutō and the crossguard is no longer present. About 25 cm from where the cross guard used to be, there is a 45 degree cut on the inside of the blade where a second blade is jutting back down and parallel to the main blade. With the edge of the blade facing inward instead of outward, the blade looks very artistic and rather difficult to handle, only further proving just how skilled a swordsman Ukitake must be to have mastered such a uniquely designed weapon.
Bankai: It is one of the rare bankai that actually has a command. It's command is "All storms, join the gods in eternal dance." It's Bankai's name is Tsuin Kotowari Naito (Twin Pisces Lancer.) It takes the form of a seastone chariot pulled by two giant armored fish (the fish swim through the air.) Juushiro himself has the clothes of his Legendary Storm Sword technique and is carrying two rounded lances connected by a richly decorated red and gold cloth. The seastone chariot is shell encrusted and has spikes going around the tip of it. The fish on the left is garbed in wave design plate mail with three horn spikes protruding off the helmet. The fish on the right is garbed in golden armor with a helmet with a similar design to the skull of a triceratops without the horns. It has a lightning bold insignia running down it.
Zanpakuto Info: Sōgyo no Kotowari (双魚の理, Truth of Pisces): Ukitake's Zanpakutō ressembles an average katana with a rectangular hand-guard and dark red handle. It's spirit represent ying yang Koi fish (one black and one white,) swimming around each other.
Shikai Abilities:
1. Lightning's Divine Arc.
SP cost: 500
Description: Juushiro lets his right blade swing freely and uses it as a flail like weapon (can also be held.) The blade glows electric blue and lightning streaks off it when it is swung, increasing it's power exponentially.
2. Ocean's Current Dance.
SP cost: 600
Description: A warm water current and a cold water current swirl around his left blade. They form a double helix of currents, which increases the power of the blade. The currents can also fire at the opponent. When exposed to both hot and cold in quick succession, the organs of the body slow down and the opponent has slower reaction times.
3. Storm Swords.
Sp cost: 800
Description: Juushiro takes this appearance... - Spoiler:
His power in increased dramatically. The water connecting the two blades can shoot out and take different shapes. The lightning can shape into numerous animals and is also able to fire into the sky, shooting back down at people.
Bankai Powers:
1. Will of Poseidon.
Sp cost: 1100
Description: Water emits from the chariot in massive quantities, creating a mini-ocean. Juushiro can shape the water into anything he wants and also ride it when he creates a waves.
2. Will of Zeus.
Sp cost: 1400
Description: Lightning wraps around the lances and extends, making the lances look longer. This has a devastating explosion upon impact and can pierce through armor with ease. | |
