Kenpachi lives for battle (evidenced by his method of attaining his rank) and enjoys a good fight more than anything. He even weakens himself in an effort to make any fight last longer. He also claims that injury and death are nothing but the price one pays for a good fight. Despite his group being the most bloodthirsty of the Gotei 13, they have a code of ethics, though different from the set rules of Soul Society.
Though he literally lives for battle, Kenpachi has shown human emotion and caring for two things: his lieutenant Yachiru (who is one of the few people he is shown to care for, along with Ikkaku Madarame and Yumichika Ayasegawa) and his name, which he gave himself. Following his battle with Ichigo Kurosaki, in a rare moment of sorrow, Kenpachi talks about the pain of not having a name (as he lived his childhood and early adult years without one), and feels guilty that his sword isn't acknowledged by its name. Despite his violent tendencies, Kenpachi will usually give up on a fight if his opponent is too injured to fight back, claiming that the fight is no longer fun. However, he will unhesitatingly kill his opponent if they refuse to end their fight on his terms.
Kenpachi also strongly believes that fun comes before working. In every battle, he tries to get as much enjoyment out of it as possible. He also sent his 5th seated officer, Yumichika, to fend off the Bount in Karakura Town, as he was the only high-ranking officer who wasn't busy, or rather, busy having fun, as Yachiru was snacking and Ikkaku was napping, while Yumichika was organizing documents. Kenpachi, when his duties permit it, always takes his afternoon nap. He does not have a particular favorite dish, but he does not like nattō.
At times it seems Kenpachi contradicts his own logic, as he on one hand wishes for ever increasing personal power, yet on the other restricts his might. Irrational to a certain extent, Kenpachi exhibits a wide range of traits; lackadaisical abandon, reckless blood lust, peculiar sentiments of affection toward his subordinates, and even indications of wisdom in the form of terse pep-talks usually given to opponents just before or even during battles.
Background Information:: Zaraki Kenpachi is the captain of the Gotei 13’s 11th Division. He is one of the many Bleach characters with a very unique appearance. His hair is spiked with tiny bells at the tip of each spike. His huge size and height (he is taller than Sado Yasutora) together with the deep scar on his face makes him look extremely aggressive and wild. And unlike Sado who is gentle and contrary to his appearance, Zaraki is indeed a violent man who has deep passion for fighting. Zaraki lives for combat. Injury, pain and death are nothing but necessities in order for him to enjoy a good fight. Although aggressive, Zaraki’s compassion can be seen from his concern for his young lieutenant, Kusajishi Yachiru. Ever since Zaraki found her, they’ve built a strong father-daughter kind of relationship. And Zaraki’s other lieutenant has shown great respect for him, which hints that Zaraki is in no way a monster that knows only bloodsheds. Before Zaraki became captain, he was a wandering swordsman from Rukongai who is very proficient in sword-fighting. When he found his way to the Court of Pure Souls, he defeated and killed the previous 11th Division captain and took over his position. ----Profession Info---- :Current Ranking:: (Elite) :Zanpakuto Appearance:: :Zanpakuto Info:: Zaraki is the only captain of the Gotei 13 that is unable to perform both his zanpakuto’s Shikai (Initial release) and Bankai (Final release). The reason is due to Zaraki not knowing his zanpakuto’s real name. He has always depended on his own strength, power and sword-fighting skills to defeat his enemies, therefore he has never understood the need to know his zanpakuto’s name. Eyepatch Power Seal: Kenpachi wears an eyepatch creted by the 12th Division just for him, that can seal his reiatsu. The patch is constantly eating away at his spiritual energy, but since he has so much of it, it does not hinder him in battle; In fact it makes him just up to par with some other Captains and Espada. The reason for wearing it is that since Kenpachi loves fighting so much, he cannot fight most opponents at full strength without defeating them quickly. He also wears bells to this effect, so the enemy can hear him.
Enhanced Strength: Perhaps due to years of combat experience and time on the battlefield, Kenpachi has a very large degree of physical strength, most commonly displayed by his ability to fight back his opponent's attacks with a single arm. Repeatedly, he has shown clear evidenced of his strength from acts like kicking Tōsen through a building and slamming Komamura over his should with one hand in their battle, as well as when he grabbed Ichigo's giant sword barehanded and reeled both him and the sword in for an attack. He also demonstrated his strength when he rammed through a building fighting Ichigo. He was also able to stop and deflect the fifth Espada, Nnoitra Jiruga's Cero with just his bare hand.
Enhanced Speed: While he possesses no skill for Flash Step, Kenpachi has still shown to be deceptively fast for his size and built. Thanks to his tremendous raw power, Kenpachi's leg strength allows him to more than make up for his lack of Flash Step, allowing him to move fast enough to instantly close a huge gap of space between him and the opponent and even seemingly disappear from sight.
Enhanced Endurance: His physical strength is matched by his stamina and endurance, Kenpachi has been shown to easily ignore most of the injuries he's sustained in battle (much like a berserker), not suffering any debilitation despite having multiple slash wounds in his body. He even allowed himself to be stabbed just to grab Tōsen's blade and break his Bankai's effect.

Chiyudo Chiyudo 61 ~ Major Poison Cure Cost: 300 Sp This is a high level chiyudo the medical shinigami learns. It utilizes the water element to cleanse the body and wash out foreign toxins. All poisons are cured but it can exhaust the user if used too many times.
Chiyudo 83 ~ Healing fountain Cost: 500 Sp A veil of what can only be described as water floats down to cover the area, in this area all wounds are healed, all poisons are eradicated and everything is enriched with a new sense of energy
Hadou Hadou 90 ~ Kurohitsugi - Black coffin(Captains and Captain Commander only, no vice captains or anyone lower) Cost: Half of the opponents current SP power. This is a forbidden hadou that only captain level shinigami know about. It is of a very dark nature and restricted to the rank of captain. Even fewer attempt to learn it as is very powerful and even harder to use. It uses reiatsu to surround an opponent in a black box of energy that squeezes down upon them.
Bakudo Bakudo 77 ~ Tenteikuura Cost: 400 Sp for each Arrancar in the area. This bakudo is made for a specialized usage of blocking off the gateways to Seireitei or Hueco Mundo. Travel to such areas involves opening up spiritual gateways as pathways of entry. Tenteikuura closes these gateways by force and is known by both area groups. Only those who have studied the gateways in depth are able to re-open the gateways despite Tenteikuura. Its physical appearance is a square within a square in front of the user's open palm.
Bakudo 81 ~ Dankuu (Rejection void) Cost: Half of the SP of the attack it is defending against. This bakudo is made for the specialized use of blocking kidou and kidou-similar techniques. It just a tall, wide, clear wall that is formed in front of the user's hand. Any kidou directed at it will hit it and have absolutely no effect, the only Exception to this rule is the Gran Rey Cero. May be used every 4 posts.
Bakudo 99 ~ Kin (Gold) Cost: Half of the opponents current SP This bakudo is the highest known bakudo to shinigami that do not belong in the Royal Guard. Extreme caution must be used while casting this bakudo since it tires out the user very fast when repeatedly used. In appearance, it forms two perpendicular lines that stretch a long distance. Then the point both lines meet is always under the target (regardless of ground or mid-air). They will have their body restrained down to the highest solid surface below them. If the kidou works, this requires the victim to use the same amount of Sp the user had to give up on the technique in order to break free from this. Can only be effective if the target has less than 25% of the users SP.
